As a customer for over a decade I was stunned to learn that I had been dropped from the Aveda rewards program when I sought to redeem a reward. My crime was a 2-yr inactive period which was inaccurate as I'd purchased items on a regular basis & thought they were being added as the store clerks requested my name, etc.

whenever I shopped. Aveda offered to "research my purchasing history" to possibly 'reinstate me'. I found this stunningly poor as an attitude & am no longer using their products as they clearly dropped me as a customer.

There are plenty of other choices. Amazingly bad at providing a good customer experience.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

You wouldโ€™ve been reinstated if you had provided the names of the locations where you shopped. The expired accounts team is always researching accounts that have expired bc the location was not adding the transaction to the customers profile.

If you did not present your member number and confirm that the clerk found your account and was applying your points then itโ€™s as much your fault as theirs. Clerks and receptionists see hundreds of people a week they cannot remember which customer is a member of what loyalty program and what each customers member number is.

I'm from London, exact same happened to me due to inactivity. When I joined Pure Privilege I was advised any points earned were for life.

These are earned points and have value; they have no right to simply remove the points. Moreover, they should notify customers before removing them so customers have a chance to redeem them!

They did notify. A miss you double points email went out at a year of inactivity.

At 20 months another email was sent telling you that you were in danger of losing your account and your points due to inactivity.

As long as you had an active email in your membership you wouldโ€™ve received that notification. Points expire when the membership expires

The same thing happened to me. Personally, I feel I was "dropped" so I couldn't redeem my points.

I'd accumulated a ton over the course of several years.

I purchased various products every two months. There's no way I was ever inactive for two years.

I just had the same thing happen. I've been a customer for years and had earned enough points for the Antigua vacation.

I was there today and asked them to check my points (which I remember the employee confirming to me that they never expire) and she said my account was expired!!

It literally made my stomach ill. Very disheartening.
