Horrible customer service
The first and last time that I will contact their customer (dis)service dept. They are uninformed, rude, and lazy, and those are the positives!
I called to ask a simple question about one of their products, and they gave me the run around, transferred me to a different dept., and misrepresented what they could do to assist me. I ended up spending an hour with their reps, a complete waste of time.
Inexplicable how a company could hire such inept personnel The epitome of not caring about the customer's needs. My advice is to have no customer service option rather than to be put through that type of ordeal!
User's recommendation: Don't buy their products!

GoShowed up and go right in, and sat down then my hair stylist come over. Her name was Elyse, she then proceeded to ask what i liked for my hair cut and I responded with a little bit off the sides and good amount off the top.
She proceeded to start washing my hair in the bowl, it was very comfortable and the water was perfect temperature. After all of the washing was done we went back and started to trim my hair and dry it. Thank you guys for the service was the best and most fun service at a hair salon i have ever had.
Thank u to Elyse for the service keep up the fantastic service. Will recommend everyone know to elyse

Verified Reviewer | London, EnglandBad experience in Aveda
Hi I can relate to your experience. In the Aveda Holborn Salon in London, my scalp was burnt and water dripped down my back by one of their trainees, whom never apologised or acknowledged my discomfort.
Next minute I know, the head manager is waiting for me to leave the salon at the entry way and starts shouting at me and told me to never come back. Since then, I have been fighting for justice. The managers never sat with me to listen to what happened to me, I have been verbally abused, gaslighted, bullied to not return, but no-one has any "real reasons". They are trying to cover up what really happened which is I had my scalp burnt and was bullied and shouted at (twice and in front of clients) to not return, only because I told the girl washing my hair, that this was not acceptable, especially when she asked if I was ok, and I said no, and she continued on, ignoring my discomfort, as she had no intention of helping me get more comfortable, and had asked the question in a very sarcastic way.
I am traumatised by the whole ordeal. I need to speak to a USA customer service person as the London one doesn't seem to respond much and they all seem to protect their salons. This needs to go a higher power. If I was in USA I would've sued already.
The store manager has no right to ban me from coming, she has no grounds on which to ban me, and I have every ground on which to sue them. Aside from the fact I have spent over 100,000 on products over 20 years investing in this company to be treated like this in London, it's despicable. I had previously been going to my aveda hairdresser in Barcelona, very well known one, and he only has good things to say about his loyal customer. Aveda have not seen the last of me.
I will fight this to the end. I will not be BULLIED. The problem is that the head manager of the Holborn Salon still to this day refuses to listen to what happened to me and she still blocks me from seeing my favourite stylist with whom I have nothing but a good rapport.
Does this sound like customer care to you? Absolutely despicable.
- Professional stylists & colonists

Verified ReviewerBeing a LOYAL customer that has spent THOUSANDS - Whomever ruined this company should be fired.
Dead on! I have been using Aveda since 1993.
Extremely sad that this company is going down - HARD.
The products are all formulated completely different - PERIOD. Then, the prices have shamefully gone to extreme. An item that was $28 is now $100? Family and friends used to love that I stocked my home with Aveda - everyone used it when they came to visit.
Not anymore.
Years upon years of loyal dedication GONE.
We bought every single product. Every birthday, I couldn't wait to go.
To log onto my account last week - and see my 47,000+ loyalty points disappear - I cried.
I called customer service.
They somehow have no idea who you are, no loyalty numbers, and told to read the "terms and conditions"... and awwww too bad, too sad. WTF!?
I am in the middle of moving - I ripped apart my home to find my "loyalty card" with my number and called...
THEY GAVE ME BACK MY 47,000 POINTS!
It left me feeling horrible - sad and straight up disgusted. All I could think... Is I got my first facial with Aveda in 1994 and I mean nothing from spending thousands upon thousands upon thousands!
Reduced to nothing?
The person who came up with the "use it or lose it" should be FIRED FROM AVEDA.
The person responsible for messing up the formulations to cut corners and leave us with watery product... SHOULD BE FIRED.

Sad ex Aveda user.
- Scents
- Estee lauder purchased the company and ruined it
Preferred solution: I want to let other LOYAL Aveda users that they are NOT losing their minds.
User's recommendation: Do not spend $100 on a bottle of facial cleaners - get real. It is not worth it and it is NOT the original formulations on any products. Their "Vegan" now... that's ok, just admitting to ALL products being changed. Thanks!
To find my aveda number
AVEDA forever.
Still and always will be a loyal AVEDA customer!!!
- Did refund one of my purchases quickly
- Customer service
- Quality
User's recommendation: Highly recommend!
Greed ruined this once beautiful company
I have been a 20+ year loyal customer of Aveda, buying everything from makeup to hair care. I even went to an Aveda school in 1999 for Esthetics - that's how long I have been using Aveda products.
This past year (2020 - ****) of buying Aveda hair care products have been extremely irritating to my scalp, stink horrible and I can tell this company is using extremely cheap, low grade ingredients - but still charging the same price as if it were using high quality ingredients that it once did under the original owner of Aveda. I know Aveda was bought out years ago, but who ever is running this company now is running it into the ground - people who used Aveda years ago under the original owner know that the quality today is complete garbage. I've spent hundreds of dollars in the last few years and I 've thrown away many hair care products because they are awful. The Shampure shampoo smells like a hint of rosemary mint - and the conditioner doesn't smell at all.
My scalp is literally burning as I'm writing this after washing it with Aveda Shampure shampoo & conditioner and feels like straw. Who ever is running this company now is turning this once beautiful company into complete trash. I've spent THOUSANDS of dollars on your products over 20+ years and now I will NEVER purchase your products again.
Just so you know, life long Aveda customers are on to you!! GREED ruined your company.
WEBSITE SCAM BEWARE ON AVEDA.com
I bought a few things on aveda website then they asked me to fill out a survey in exchange for a FREE gift valued at $100 so I filled the long time consuming survey including all of my personal info. Well at the end it said 4 free magazines subscription for a full year was my gift( the word free was gone) but the catch is I had to make a partial credit card payment for these magazines.
WHAT A SCAM !! No place are we warned or told until AFTER THEY HARVEST YOUR INFO! Aveda used to be an upscale line but to do something like this and on top of it. A lot of their products have been reformulated with cheap ingredients!
They have fallen far down the latter of class and quality. Ive canceled my order and now I will go out of my way to tell the world about these sleazy tactics. They must be in serious trouble to stoop so low. I kept hearing about cheap ingredients and bad changes to products and now I understand why.
Im not out money but my time and insulting me with wasting my time and personal info in such an under handed deceitful way leaves me with a really bad taste. No upscale company would do this. I bet they lie about animals cruelty too!
I have a huge following on social media. STUPID!!!!
User's recommendation: Stay away and don’t take the survey!!
